WFO Executive Flourishing Blueprint Facilitator

Tamara Lechner, is a longtime expert and practitioner in flourishing, and we’re thrilled to have her leading our Executive Flourishing Blueprint Cohort as a Facilitator. Her journey started over 20 years ago, when she faced challenges as a parent and found that resilience and positive psychology could be taught and applied at work and in life. Since 2013, she has been diving deep into the science and practice of flourishing. Her biggest strength is helping to make flourishing measurable and understandable, using plain language and data to help organizations and individuals thrive.

One of Tamara’s key insights is that great leaders aren’t always at the top; “champions” at any level of an organization can foster positive teams by modeling the behaviors they want to see and amplifying others’ strengths.

What has Tamara seen that doesn’t work? Leaders telling individuals to “fix” burnout or well-being, without addressing organizational culture. Winning happens when leaders help create healthy work environments, versus just promoting individual self-care.

Tamara’s top tips:

For leaders

Measure what’s important (hint: not just the monetary metrics), listen, care, and ask what people need.

For teams

Establish collective processes that support psychological health and safety—create systems for regular check-ins on workload and wellbeing, normalize conversations about mental health, build in recovery time between intense projects, and develop shared practices that help everyone recognize and address stress before it becomes overwhelming.

For individuals

Check your basic wellbeing—sleep, food, movement, energy— and consider how you’re showing up every day. Advocate for your needs within team processes, speak up when systems aren’t working, and use the collective support structures to maintain your wellbeing rather than shouldering it alone.

In delivering this Blueprint program, success to her means that participating executives design tailored actions that are embedded and activated in their teams and organization for lasting impact, and they encourage other leaders to join and take steps to become a flourishing organization.

Tamara’s vision is flourishing skills for all – starting with leaders focusing on what’s important: measuring and embedding all the systems, skills and actions that help people be their best. Find a sneak preview below, and find all of Tamara’s insights, in under 10 minutes.
