What a great honor to host Dr. Tyler VanderWeele—Harvard University Professor from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Founding Director of the Human Flourishing Program (HFP)—for a captivating session on the science and practice of human flourishing.
This special event, in collaboration with the Harvard Club of Hong Kong, the Harvard Business School Association of Hong Kong, and the Harvard Club of Hong Kong Education Fund, was generously hosted by Latham & Watkins.
With a full house of deeply engaged leaders, Dr. VanderWeele shared groundbreaking insights drawn from nearly a decade shaping the HFP at Harvard. His globally recognized research has fundamentally advanced our understanding of flourishing—demonstrating that genuine success goes far beyond health and wealth. Flourishing encompasses purpose, meaning, emotional and social well-being, character, and strong relationships.
Dr. VanderWeele emphasized that measuring flourishing is essential for organizations seeking to elevate well-being and performance. The results speak for themselves: when flourishing is prioritized, organizations experience higher engagement, less distraction and turnover, and stronger, high-performing teams.
We often say “people are our greatest asset,” but the real opportunity lies in helping people truly flourish—not just perform. Imagine a workplace built on trust, clarity, and belonging, where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully. That’s the essence of flourishing.
At the World Flourishing Organization (WFO), our mission is to translate these insights into real-world impact. We connect a global community of researchers, practitioners, and leaders, and guide organizations to assess, understand, and take action to foster flourishing at every level.
